The overarching goal of the School of Art is to offer curricula that enables students to make choices and clearly understand how and why they make art. Our programs which include Crafts, Interdisciplinary Fine Arts, and Photography, endeavor to encourage students to be creatively agile and curious about the many possibilities that exist within contemporary art-making. When they graduate, they should leave the school professionally prepared and ready to make contributions to the world at large. To this end, we created various pathways through curricula, opened up possibilities through cross-disciplinary study and collaboration, and provided for a progression through the curricula that guarantees individual development as well as a constant acquisition of knowledge and skills. Throughout, we have sought to accommodate the student who wants to be broad and general in his/her approach to art while preserving the kind of focused education that students have come to expect at the University.
