LAPI 932 - Race at the End of the 20th Century In the last decade of the twentieth century, many writers, politicans, and artists attempted to take stock of race relations in the United States. Bill Clinton’s assertion that Americans still had some “unfinished business” in this area was demonstrated by events such as the LA riots and the OJ Simpson verdict. By focusing on this period, we will explore the ongoing issues of race and racism in our society, as well as how they intersect with issues like class and gender.
