LALL 843 - Latin American Literature The major exponents of Latin American literature focusing on the writers of the so called “boom,” who managed to assimilate the tradition and be completely new and original. While the course is not a survey, it traces the origins of both style and imagery by looking at the earliest exponents of Latin American literature. It demonstrates how Latin Americans began both to define themselves and to understand their landscape through literature. Formerly HU 424
