IDES 432 - Design Practice Seminar Exposes the student to industrial design professional practice through discussion, lectures, and research. The following subjects are addressed: 1. Running a practice 2. Legalities and contracts 3. Publications/exhibitions 4. Client interaction 5. Job search, recruiters and directories 6. Networking (etiquette and strategy) 7. Work structure (internship, freelance, in-house etc.). Visitors and field trips represent a broad spectrum of the design community including design shop owners, design curators from galleries or museums, industrial design entrepreneurs, and copyright lawyers. Prerequisites & Notes Prerequisite: IDES 431 Open to Industrial Design majors only.
