Description

Increasingly, the web as well as other interactive platforms are becoming the de facto medium for communicating and networking with others, sharing and accessing information and knowledge, doing business, and engaging the world. As the sophistication and complexity of levels of interaction continue to increase, designers need to be educated to design and develop applications, products, services, and systems that create experiences for people to communicate and interact. Students in the web development and interaction design major will focus on the parallel areas of research, design and technology, by creating web, mobile & tablet applications, leveraging content management systems, and harnessing client and server side technologies for the web. User-centered design principles will also be a key focus of this major.

Program Objectives

  • To combine research and studio practice through inquiry and iteration;
  • To adapt to constantly changing technological paradigms by learning how to learn; skills acquisition;
  • To clearly and effectively communicate verbally, visually and written;
  • To synthesize interaction design concepts, processes, and skills in order to design for the user experience
