LAPI 923 - The Age of Apartheid By focusing on the apartheid era of South Africa, this interdisciplinary course explores critical issues of the twentieth century, such as racism, economic exploitation, urbanization, and political protest. We use South African theater, literature, and music to understand the culture that gave them birth, and read original sources written by leaders such as Gandhi, De Klerk, and Mandela. Formerly HU 276
