GRFA 782 - Thesis Writing Project II The Thesis Writing Project is a corequisite of Thesis Preparation I and II, and takes place during the fall and spring off-campus semesters. Research for the Thesis Writing Project is intended to inform the student’s second-year Independent Studio activity, which focuses on identifying and developing potential directions for the thesis exhibition and written thesis. The student is expected to consider issues raised during the previous summer’s seminar that are particularly relevant to the more focused direction of their studio work. The student independently formulates a proposal and bibliography for a formal paper to be based upon the more developed direction of their work. The range of issues considered for further investigation may include aesthetic, conceptual, technical, or visual culture issues as well as the relationship of the major work to other disciplines.
