WFTV 10008 Rewriting & Professional Practices

Begin this class with an early draft of your script, which will be read aloud in class and receive feedback from the instructors and fellow students. The mornings are spent exploring more advanced aspects of screenwriting, looking at tone, subtext, polishing dialogue, and finessing screen direction. You’ll also learn about the professional aspects of writing for TV and film, TV writers’ rooms, show bibles, season arcs and other practices of the entertainment industry. In the afternoons you will learn how to map out a revision plan and continue to polish your script. By the end of this class, students will participate in live readings for an invited audience.
