This class will supplement student filmmaking by introducing to the fundamentals of film language in order to foster a thoughtful and informed approach to their own filmmaking. Topics covered include: The different modes of cinema and how they evolved from their origins; Analyzing the historical and cultural contexts for films; How to discuss and critique films in an intelligent, thoughtful and respectful manner
