Introduces the theory and practice of sound editing and design for motion pictures. Using nonlinear sound-editing software, students complete exercises in the creative practice of post-production sound acquisition, editing, and mixing for various media. Topics covered include: Location sound acquisition - learn the proper use of shotgun and lavalier mics, booming technique and how to operate a mixer; Foley sound - understand the art and techniques behind Of Foley; Post-Production Sound - learn basic sound editing and mixing using the Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) platform, Logic.
