THMD 172 Stage Combat 2: Single Sword

Stage Combat is the safe, repeatable physicalization of dramatic conflict and its resolution, both physically and emotionally. This introductory course teaches the integration of aggressive acting intent and safe stage combat techniques using the Hollywood Single Sword, the iconic fighting style of the Golden age of Cinema upon which all modern armed stage combat is based. This class prepares the student for the SAFD Certification Test, adjudicated on the last day of class by a Fight Master from the Society of American Fight Directors. (Testing with the SAFD is optional. Additional fees apply.)
