WFTV 265 Writing Comedy



3 credits 45 hours
200 level undergraduate course

Writing Comedy is a screenwriting workshop course where students will have the opportunity to explore the world of comedy writing for film, TV, streaming, and the web. Students will learn the foundations of what makes successful comedy and through exercises, improvisations, screenings, and short written projects. Students will be able to generate material and practice the craft of writing comedy in a variety of mediums, including stand up, late night, sit-coms, sketch, improvisation, parody, satire, farce, mockumentaries, slapstick, and others.

Prerequisites WFTV*145

This course is not repeatable for credit.
This course can fulfill a critical studies elective or general elective requirement.
