VPAS 679 Portfolio Prep for Students
3 credits 42.0 hours 600 level graduate course
This course is designed for the high school art teacher to better prepare high school students to
develop and present a strong art portfolio for college admission, scholarship, and the AP
Portfolio. Through discussion, review of sample student portfolios, and hands-on studio
exercises, teachers will leave with the ability to guide students through these processes. Topics
covered include: college portfolio expectations, expanding the depth and breadth of a portfolio,
preparing students for National Portfolio Days, interviewing, and presentation methods. Focus
will be placed on students in critique, theme development, and student editing and organization
of work.
Open to graduate students from the Division of Continuing
Studies. This course is not repeatable for credit. This course may not be audited. This course cannot be taken pass/fail.
