DANC 692 Philadelphia Field Study II
2 credits 45.0 hours 600 level graduate course
Students, in consultation with faculty mentors & advisors, will select a community partner from an approved list and develop a Field Study Plan that takes place over two terms. Challenged to examine the role of dance and dance making in the community at large, students will be asked to examine where their practice intersects directly with the public realm. Students identify, research, engage with and respond to an organization that matches their interests. Resulting creative responses and projects broaden various communities’ understanding of the role that dance can play in contemporary society as well as expanding contexts and opportunities for dance artists.
Prerequisites DANC*671
Open only to MFA in Dance majors.
