AHST 282 History of CraftsDivision of Liberal Arts
3 credits 45.0 hours 200 level undergraduate course
A survey of the principal movements and tendencies in Western crafts since the middle of the 19th century. Main topics include the arts and crafts movement, art nouveau, the Bauhaus, the interrelationships among fine arts, crafts, and design, and postmodernism.
Prerequisites FYWT*101 or FYWT*112
Priority enrollment to Crafts majors. This course is not repeatable for credit. This course can fulfill an art history elective, liberal arts elective, or free elective requirement.
