Applying to Graduate

Students nearing degree completion are required to submit a Graduation Application to the Office of the Registrar. The application notifies the University that a student intends to complete all degree requirements by the end of the term for which they apply. Undergraduate students who have completed 88 credits are required to submit a Graduation Application. Graduate students should apply to graduate by the beginning of their final term.

If degree requirements will not be completed by the end of the term for which a student has applied to graduate the application should be updated by the student. Graduation applications for students who have been withdrawn from the University for one academic year will be deleted.

  2. Submit the Graduation Application.
  3. It will be be received and reviewed by The Office of the Registrar.

Commencement Program Deadline

A student must apply to graduate prior to the commencement program deadline for their name to be included in the program. This deadline is listed in the academic calendar.

Conferral of Degrees & Diplomas

The Office of the Registrar confers degrees three times each year at the conclusion of the fall, spring and final summer terms. Commencement Ceremonies take place once a year in May and are administered by Student Affairs.

Students who are conferred degrees in August or December are invited to participate in commencement ceremonies the following May.

Students should review their degree progress before registration closes during their final semester to confirm they will complete their degree requirements by the conferral date for which they petitioned to graduate. The Office of the Registrar is available to answer questions related to degree progress.

The availability of diplomas for pickup or mailing varies by the time of year. Contact the Office of the Registrar for more information.
