DANC 251 Dance History, Theory and Criticism I

The study of the interaction between dance and the society in which it develops, emphasizing the changing role and nature of dance. Dance History, Theory and Criticism I deals with dance from the Renaissance through Diaghilev’s Ballet Russe.

Prerequisites COMP*102, COMP*102E, COMP*112, or COMP*112H

Priority enrollment to majors in the School of Dance.
This course is not repeatable for credit.
This course can fulfill a discipline history elective, critical studies elective, or free elective requirement.
